Abstract

The main conflict in the process of globalization is not the clash between the capital and democracy as such. It is much extensive and is concerned with the level to which neo‐liberal globalization favours to the general crisis of social reproduction on a global scale, the crisis which is also environmental as well as social in the same time (Gill). Social development cannot be any more simply directed toward material goals and achievements, but includes non‐material dimensions. It cannot be anthropocentric any more because it encompasses planetary ecology. The meaning of it, in brief, is a process of collective learning and self‐management of mankind (Nederveen Pieterse). The process of learning is the life itself, and the acting of all complex systems; no matter if they have once been perceived as organism, machines, culture or economics, they do not act in isolation, but they mutually let through and infect one another, converging to their virtuality (Plant).
