Abstract

Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors – neurosarcoma in the head and neck area are very rare and highly malignant tumors. They are localized at peripheral nerve sheath cells, where in two thirds of such cases, a neurofibromatosis type 1 is taken as the origin predisposition. This tumor requires fast, correct diagnosis and an adequate aggressive therapy despite the death rate of over 60%. The paper shows a patient with a fast growing tumor mass in the right parotid gland, which was confirmed by the histological picture,
the histochemical reaction as well as the results of the immunohistochemical analysis as the malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor – G3 according to the French Federation Nationale des Centres de Lutte Contre le Cancer. The illness course from the day the patient noticed the tumor until his death lasted for two
months.
