Abstract

In this article are described the basic criteria for mechanical toolmarks and firearms identification as well as a historical development of conservative quantitative criteria for identification and his current vrorld status. It is also shown a practical example of Consecutive Matching Striations (CMS) numeration appliance upon to mechanical marks identification as well as practical conformation of CMS identification theory. The intention is to encourage the examiners to elaborate their objective observations which support the results of toolmarks examinations and to be conservative in the importance of the observations.
