Abstract

The article intends to follow the way in which Petrić advances from an "anthropological" set of problems to the establishing of a peculiar Neo-Platonic system that man is excluded from. Petrić unsuccessfully tries to ground humanistic or "anthropological" themes and problems philosophically, that is, in a way which poses itself to him as a scientific-philosophical, and is therefore forced to turn to founding a Neo-Platonic system of his own; this follows from the analysis and interpretation of Petrić's early works Le Citta Felice 1553, Della Historia dieci Dialoghi 1560 and Della Retorica dieci Dialoghi 1562. If it still remains possible to speak of the problem of man here, then it is only possible in the sense of the way from the complexity of the anthropological problem to the abstract observer or the designer of the system.
