Abstract

In addition to offering a brief account of the history of examining the city of Bjelovar, the paper discusses the issue of the founding of the city of Bjelovar in 1756 based on the archival research of a so far neglected source – Liber momorabilium authored by Ivan Josipović, parish priest of Križevci, and newer data gathered by H. Petrić.
