Ante Kusić
Abstract
The author of this article speaks first about the theme »-The profile of
Christian mysticism in general traits« starting from neo-platonic conception (purification from sensuality, contemplation of ideas, ecstazy for an union with the primary One). After that the author goes on with the teachings of Bernard de Cairvaux and his »betrothal mysticism« of the soul’s union with Christ (»consideration — mental concentration in prayer, »contemplatio«, »raptus«. In the article the subject particularly in question is about th e conception of saint Thereza of Avila and sa in t John of the Cross, because th e ir works have exercised the stongest influence on Bergson’s doctrine about the Christian mysticism.
