Abstract

The paper reports on results of archaeological excavations performed by the early-Romanesque church of St. Peter (Sv. Petar) in Kula Atlagića near Benkovac, demolished during the Fatherland War. There were researched the interior of the church and the area 2 m wide along its north, south and west walls. To east o fthe apse there was researched a larger area (8 x 6.5 m). The excavations resulted in new information on the church architecture and revealed finds of sculpture, that is, church furnishings. In the researches, there were also excavated 85 graves, only apart of them belonging to the late middle ages (13Ih -15Ih centuries), the major part being of the new age.
