Abstract

In this paper, the cleanliness of the surface of metal and ceramic samples was determined. The samples were prepared by mechanical and chemical cleaning. Cleanliness of the surface was determined by the static extraction method. The static extraction method proved to be a very good method for the measurement of surface cleanliness.
The obtained results indicate that both methods of the sample preparation are in accordance with the standard MIL-P-28809. Slightly better results were obtained by chemical cleaning of samples.
