Direct milk selling in Croatia

Abstract

During last few years in Croatia is evident an increase of producers direct-selling milk either as direct to home delivery or selling on markets. Such a selling way is under the control only conditionaly, mostly concerning the producers having bigger cows' herds. Consequently, large quantities of milk are consumed without adequate quality control, what means a treat from medical point of view, not to mention avoiding fiscal obligations. This research deals with milk distribution expences in Croatia as one of major factors of milk selling increase. Also, examples and ways of direct selling in some EC countries are given, and conditions allowing that kind of sale. "Interdiction" of direct-selling milk in Croatia is studied separately and suggestions are given on possibility of such milk distribution but under particular conditions.
