Abstract
Somatic cell count (SCC) larger than 250.000/ml significantly changes yield, chemical, physical technological and manufactural characteristics of milk. High correlations between somatic count and subclinical mastitis have been reported. Somatic cell counts are an effective tool in controlling mastitis. For the best quality of milk, it is necessary to determine somatic cell in milk.
