Abstract

Najveće postignuće Jérômea Lejeunea bilo je otkriće genetske osnove downova sindroma, koju je nazvao trisomija 21. Zahvaljujući važnim humanim genetičkim istraživanjima, humanitarnome duhu i borbi protiv terapijskoga pobačaja, s pravom je priznat kao ute¬meljitelj moderne genetike.
