Abstract

SUMMARY

Eschaton, is it something allready present, realized; something in the beginning, or is it something what is only coming and about what we can hardly say anything? Is biblical Eschatology generally possible as a biblical - theological discipline, and if it is, in what sense? Speaking about Old - Testament Eschatology, is it tought just about Israel or the Old - Testament literature has a universal message? What is to find about death and judgement, reward and punishment, hell, paradise and purgatory in the books of the Old Testament? Is it the soul or the body that is immortal? Is the idea of resurrection in the Old Testament a metaphoric expression or reality? These are just a few of the questions that are in the centre of the interest of the article. The author wants to answer to these questions on the basis of a synchronal - synthetical analysis of the Old Testament and in this way he wants to give the contours of the Old - Testament Eschatology.
