Abstract

Aim of research: The aim of this research was to examine the root
canal wall surface by reflexional microscopy and to evaluate the effectiveness o f ultrasound technique during endodontic treatment.
Material and methods: The experimental part o f this study was conducted on extracted human teeth. An ENAC Osada Electric CO. LTD. ultrasound unit was used in the treatment. The physical principles of using the ultrasound endodontic unit is based on transversal oscillations of the scraper. The free vibrating point o f the instrument combined with caustic circulation o f Na-Hypochloride solution produces dynamic stress strong enough to clean the root canal walls. Results: Analysis o f examined specimen micrographs indisputedly revaled clean and smooth root canal surfaces, sharp and clear contours around the dentinal tubuli openings and good conduction o f the tubuli. The results of this research confirmed the effectiveness and advantage of simultaneous use o f ultrasound instruments and Na-Hypochloride during endodontic treatment.
Conclusion: The ultrasound method of preparing the endodonti
space is a method of choice, which, by continued irrigation, efficiently
removes infected tissues from the root canal and conically widens it,
leaving the root canal walls clean, smooth and without residual deposits.
