Abstract

This study was carried out with the aim of assessing the graphic presentation of cephalometric values which can provide guidance for the position of the lower incisors in relation to the mandibular plane in subjects with different interbasal and occlusal-mandibular angles. The sample consisted of 80 individuals with normal occlusion. Variables ML-NL, OL-ML and I-ML were performed on lateral cephalo- grams. Significant correlation between variables OL-ML and ML-NL (r=0.60), ML-NL andlML (r= -0.35) and 1-ML and OL-ML (r= -0.52) were assessed. Graphic presentation of concordant corresponding values was constructed on the basis of the correlation between the variables by means of regression analyses, with the purpose of assessing the inclination of the lower incisors in different skeletal jaw relationships.
