Abstract

As a general disease, scleroderma also manifests with pathological changes in the orofacial region. History data, and results of clinical and radiologic examination of the orofacial region were studied in 41 patients with scleroderma. The most significant changes were those at the TMJ and the loss of lamina dura. The most frequent subjective discomforts were tensions of facial skin and lips. The results on the frequency of symptoms and clinical manifestations in orofacial region in our patients are consistent with literature data.
