Abstract

In dynamic confrontation with the results of other sociohumanistic
disciplines, theology deliberates in their light on
the path of growth in faith and develops plans for religious
upbringing and education. Without reducing the positive effects
and fruitful cooperation (strengthening sensitivity to the age,
cultural, social and developmental-psychological specifics of
believers), the contribution points to the opinion that there is
an undeniable parallel between the psychological and religious
development of personality, and that religiosity carries a powerful
imprint of first experiences, especially of the development of
fundamental trust. Psychology has not yet developed sufficiently
sensitive instruments to explore emotions, cognition, attitudes
and behaviour associated with religiosity; also, one should
allow a margin of inexplicable between the religious and
psychological.
