Abstract

Nowadays, in an environment of post-modern relativism, more
and more people are searching for new meaning, new refuge, new
support and new home in a “virtual reality” of computer, i.e. of the
internet. Internet is becoming not only a means of communication
but also an environment. All this affects the perception of man, his
religiosity and the meaning of life. A new religious phenomenon,
which finds the basic component of its own essence in the internet,
is as a rule defined as online religion and is more easily associated
with the development of new religious movements. Online religion
is lived in forums, chats, blogs, interactive sites, but always
through the symbolic language of the keyboard. Three dimensional
techniques makes it possible, in a more subtle and improved way,
to re-create an external reality on the network, while the entity
may introduce himself/herself in whatever way he/she wants.
These are all challenges of the present moment facing theology and
theological thought.
