Abstract

The author argues that Early Warning
Systems are perhaps the most important part, or the goal
of business and government intelligence systems. The
best first step of protection is to predict possible
upcoming problems. On the other hand, Early Warning
Systems are the ones that reveal potential opportunities
that can positively influence organisation/country. The
point is proactive approach where strategy has to be
adapted on time to the dynamic environment, rather than
passively waiting for possible surprise to come without
prepared measures. Overview of the definitions, mission
and importance of System is provided, and emphasis is
given on the process of Early Warning Systems.
