Abstract

Two hundred and thirty permanent roots were examined stereomicroscopically to determine the frequency of apical, lateral and furcational accessory canals. The frequency of apical accessory canals averaged 19,6l:'/oi and lateral 8,3l0/o. The furcational accessory canals were observed in 32,0% of all furcations. These findings emphasize the necessity for undertaking the meticulous desinfection and qualitative obturation of endodontic space.
