Abstract

The research of the microbiological contamination of alginate impressions has shown the necesity for usage of desinfectans before forwarding the impressions to a laboratory. A five minutes immersion of the impression in a 1:50 chlorhexidinegluconate dilution has shown as satisfactory. This posed the possibility of changes of the alginate following such a desinfection procedure. The original method of volume measurement of tha impression material stability and alginate surface. Therefore the use of this desinficience is possible without dimensional changes of impressions.
