Abstract

The first physharmonica was made by Anton Haeckel in 1821. The basic notion of physharmonica is the usage of reed as a sound source, which has enabled gradual sound dynamics alteration. The harmonium was patented by Alexandre-Fransois Debain (1809-1877) in 1842. Larger and more complicated instruments were built under that name since then. Nowadays harmonium is a part of musical history. The physharmonica, as an early harmonium type, remains the most beautiful, the most applicable sort of this instrument that has persisted only in traditional Indian music.
