Abstract

The paper depicts automatic performance control of relative gravity meters Scintrex Autograv CG-3M by the means of Pragra application, developed using MATLAB softvare package. Scintrex Autograv CG-3M is modern relative gravity meter. After setting the gravity meter at gravity station, levelling and starting a measurement, measurement process is completely automatic. A measuring signal is converted into gravity readings by the means of predefined calibration function by the gravity meter itself. In addition, instrumental corrections and the Earth tide reduction are applied simultaneously. In order to ensure correct appliance of instrumental corrections, performance of gravity meter must be regularly controlled and adjusted, if needed. Regularly performance control of the gravity meter Scintrex Autograv CG-3M includes thermometer zero correction, determining the stationary drift correction and adjustment of the gravity meter clock, determining and correcting levels’ zeros, determining levels’ sensitivity and determining gravity meter calibration constant. Pragra application provides automatic computation of gravity meter’s parameters and corrections, as well as automatic registration in appropriate register of changes. Usage of Pragra application significantly reduces the extent of work as well as the risk of errors in the process of gravity meter’s parameter modification and its registration.
