Abstract
In everyday life we use new technologies and meet up with new media. New media have an increasing role in the education process in order to improve the quality of lifelong education and better learning outcomes. The increasing popularity of electronic media that transmit digital information - radio, television, Web sites, interactive computer technologies put before us also the task of training the users (teachers and students) for new ways of teaching/learning.
The fact that a majority of students participating in lifelong education had had their last education more than 20 years ago when computer education was minimal, sets before us the challenge of introducing e-learning. Distance learning represents the integration of information and communication technology into education and leads us towards self-study. By introducing new media and information technology in vocational education we offer students better training for work and business processes. The key question is how well our teachers are trained to work with new media and how to educate them for that.
