Teaching is as old as human species. However, teaching methods have been developing and improving, as well as coordinating with new knowledge and technologies. Contrary to pedagogy which is always mentioned when we talk about education, teaching, learning, training, andragogy is a blank sheet for the majority, although scientists have been studying it since the 19th century. When addressing methods of teaching, pedagogy is typically thought of as more of a lecture-based approach while andragogy is more of a participative-training approach (Rachal, 1994). Children and adults learn differently, or do they? This is one of basic questions we would like to offer our answers to. We would like to analyze similarities and differences between andragogy and pedagogy with the aim to create models for teaching strategies for teachers who work with adults (including lecturers at universities) in order to make their teachings more efficient and create challenging and motivational environment for the students.
