OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADULT EDUCATION IN IMPRISONMENT INSTITUTIONS

Abstract
Implementation of adult education in the imprisonment institutions represents a relatively untapped and relatively incomplete area of adult education, although adequately covered and elaborated by legal regulations, where certainly there is space for breakthrough and progress of all participants in the learning process.
In this paper author gives an overview of the fundamental determinants of education of adults sentenced to a term of detention as the most severe sentence, with analysis of legal requirements that must be met by the participants in adult education institutions and imprisonment institutions, and motives of convicts for education during imprisonment.
Finally, the proposals were given to increase the quality of adult education, while serving a sentence of deprivation of liberty in the post penal assistance, de lege ferenda.
