Abstract

Synchronous technology is a new CAD technology. It represents a significant progress in creating technical documentation and is used more and more by experts in this field. As this is a new technology, many new terms related to it have appeared. As stated by Lukenda [1], both linguists as well as experts in a certain profession should participate in the development of terminology. This paper refers to insights gained while translating the tutorial “Getting started with Solid Edge“. The aforementioned translation of the tutorial that was originally published in English represents a fruitful cooperation between experts in the fields of mechanical engineering and linguistics. This paper focuses on problems in translating the terminology of synchronous technology from English into Croatian. The terminology standardization suggestions are based on terminological principles and are presented in detail.
