Water storage tower of spiral plan

Abstract

The Doljan Watertower, which is the central water storage facility and the basic pressure regulator in the water system of the Regional Varaždin Water-Supply Scheme, is presented. Water of variable quality is supplied to the water tower from three water plants. Basic water tower shaping principles as used during the tower design are presented. The plan in form of an Archimedean spiral was selected, so as to enable uniform flow and water mixing, and to obtain the most favourable hydraulic shape.
