Abstract

The paper analyses the stress and strain generated by traffic load in the so called inverse pavement structures, i.e. structures in which the cement-bound base course is placed onto the subgrade, while the unbound layer is placed in the intermediate portion of the structure. The analysis was performed by varying three most significant parameters: pavement geometry, properties of materials, and load bearing capacity of soil. Values obtained in this analysis are compared with those measured under similar conditions on traditional pavement structures.
