Abstract
The Appendix to the Croatian Bibliography of Criminal Investigation (part III) is dedicated to the celebration of 60 anniversary of the publication of the Manual for Professional Training of Law Enforcement Officers (abbreviated: Manual) and its successor the journal Police and Security for the period 1953 - 2013. The third Appendix to the Croatian Bibliography of Criminal Investigation includes time of publication of the Manual which means a period from 1953. to 1991. and together with the already published appendixes (2007, 1-21(16), 121-169; 2012, 1(21), 218-275) makes a comprehensive entirety of bibliographic analysis of the Manual and the Police and Security journal for the period from 1953 to 2011. In the attached bibliography approximately 210 numbers/individual booklets, 23,420 printed pages and 2,260 articles and papers published in the Manual are analyzed.
Also, the paper presents the views on specific issues such as: what were the motives and reasons which started publishing the journal Manual, which basic strategy and editorial policy of the Editorial was during its publication, as well as how and in what way the journal Manual was developed and adapted to modern trends and technical-publishing formal characteristics of modern journals in the 70's and 80’s of the twentieth century. For this reason, historical generic method was used and analysis of the bibliometric analysis from the 1991 was made in which the Manual by the comparison method was compared with six journals with the same or similar thematic content. Taking into account this significant anniversary, one part of the paper is dedicated to one of the main initiators and drivers of the publication and printing of the Manual - dr. Tomislav Markovic, called Moca. In the end, the paper provides an analysis of the reasons why it is necessary to make such specialized bibliography as criminalistics bibliography.
