Abstract

The preconditions necessary for the development of the cultural institutions in Dalmatia and Split have been created through the centuries. They are stated in the maturation of the high civil society in many components of economic, political and sociological development, which recedes the development of the interest in people’s culture. Traditional culture is increasingly attractive to writers, researchers and cultural public. The attractiveness of the tourist destination exists regardless of the development of tourism, although tourism is largely conditioned by the existence of the attractiveness, the values which influence tourist motivation for moving and staying in certain destinations. These values are in fact services and facilities which a certain town has and promotes and on which is based its recognizability and competitiveness.
