Abstract

The aim of my researches was to ascertain the genetic dependence of the relation between mandibule and maxile to the basis of skull. In order to do these researches I used the method of twins, which are the best one for these aims, because it is based on the comparative researches of MZ and DZ twins. I also used for these researches profile chephalometric snapshops of 40 pairs of twins, of this number, 20 were MZ and other 20 DZ. In order to ascertain the genetic dependence of the relation between maxile and mandibule to the basis of skull I used the following angles: 1. The angle SNA (the angle of maxi la prognatism) 2. The angle SNiPg (the angle of mandibular prognatism which is called facial angle). Comparative findings in MZ and DZ twins show that the values of the angle SNA and SNPg are much lower in MZ than in DZ twins. The facts which we mentioned show that the relation between maxile and mandibule to the basis of skull, is chiefly controlled by the hereditary factors.
