Attempts at protecting an accidentally opened dental pulp

Abstract

The authors give a review of the historical developmet of the protection of an accidentally opened dental pulp which occurres in the course of preparing a cavity. They describe the method of work and the agents applied in individual periods, depending upon various conceptions in relation to infection and function of the pulp.
