Abstract

The authors have stressed the fact, thai: the dentist's responsibility docs not cease with the completion of the extraction of tooth. After the extraction is completed the wound should be carefully inspected for fragments of bone and tooth, or pieces of filling. Sharp edges or projecting spicules of bone, especially the interdental septum in molar socket should be made smooth. All pathologic tissue found must be removed at this time, especially apical granulomas and periodontal granulomatous formations. This is as important as a good extraction to prevent complications and unnecessary suffering.
