Abstract

This article is discussing the current problems of teaching
medical ethics at Croatian faculties of medicine. It is emphasized
that the curriculum was established quite late (first beginnings
in the mid eighties). The author points out the campaignstyle
organization of the teaching process instead of its
„verticalization“(extension throughout the undergraduate study).
The inappropriate ethical reasoning among the medical students
and doctors alike is presented and some relevant ethical questions
intriguing the students, which diverge from those considered in
the media, are exposed.
