Abstract

The archaeological site Kurilovec-Belinščica is located in the lowlands of Turopolje, south of Velika Gorica. Archaeological investigations were conducted at this position in 2006 based on the results of the systematic survey of the first section of the Zagreb-Sisak motorway. A part of a larger Late Bronze Age settlement was investigated and sporadic structures were discovered containing material with La Tene and classical features.
The results of the investigations and the scientific potential of the site created the need to consider the application of other methods that would serve to complement the data gleaned from archaeological investigations so far. Thus spatial measurements of the site's immediate surroundings were carried out in November 2011 and April 2012. The measurements covered an area of roughly 31700 m2, which allowed for a successful determination of elevation changes in the measured area. The processing of the data enabled the creation of a digital model of the relief and the site's immediate surroundings, which, together with the data collected in other forms of archaeological investigations, enables a broader understanding of the area's archaeological features.
