Abstract

To live in communion in the new cultural and religious context poses a challenge to today's society. Despite the modern network of rapid communication, the individual experiences a profound identity crisis, an inability to coexist with neighbors creatively and freely. The authors of the text The Communion of Communities in Parish Catechesis, with particular emphasis on specific communities and living circles of the faithful, view them as a necessary way to build and promote fundamental Christian and human values. The Church as a divine institution comes from the community that lives in God as the unity of the three Persons. Man, created in the image and likeness of God, lives in this community as a relational being. Faith, as the deepest expression of a person's relationship to God and neighbors, stems from his dependence on God, which leads him to his neighbors. Special communities and living circles of the faithful are God's gift to the Church as schools of the spirituality of communion, with the purpose of practicing and achieving the graces given through baptism as a path for living the fundamental Christian virtues – faith, hope and love. In the desire to congregate, the modern person sometimes follows questionable models of congregation and joins sects, emulating a mentality of exclusivity or engaging in the occult. A genuine community of the faithful issues from the Word of God and the Eucharist.
The article presents the biblical-prayer group God is Love, as a model of a concrete experience by communities in parish catechesis. The foundation of the community is the regularity of the meetings of its members who, through liturgical reading, prepare intensively for the celebration of the Eucharist on Sundays, where they gather together with the whole parish community.
