Abstract

The author thinks like a teacher who, following the example of his teacher, Don Bosco, centers upon the person ministered to as someone seeking meaning. Aware that a person is God's creature whom God loves, the author follows Don Bosco’s method and wants to be close to the young. This means encouraging them to desire growth, set their sights high and experience life as a gift. Therefore, a pastor who responds to Christ's call and follows Don Bosco's method attempts to listen to the narrations and histories of the young. He listens to the attitudes of their hearts and educates them in commemorating, seeking and returning to that which is holy. This includes fostering a serious Christian awareness and firm stride that leads to the creation of community and fraternal communion. For this purpose, the pastor and teacher of the young must be a witness and petitioner who creates places for encounters, while at the same time testifying to how God is with us and always walks with us. The article concludes with four proposals for pastoral activity.
