Abstract

The author of this article explains the idea of the first proclamation which points to the need for transcending the existing stereotypes and re-examining the sources that mention the first proclamation of the first Christian community. The article first outlines some methodological notes for a better understanding of the New Testament. Then the author mentions the apostolic preaching and the presence and methods of the first proclamation in the early Church. The first Church is a community of remembrance. The kerygma is Jesus' "second" "remembrance." In various forms of remembrance of Jesus in the New Testament, the author reveals various forms of kerygma. Characteristics of the New Testament kerygma help us to discover its original identity. Pastoral reflection today shows us the importance of the original pluralism of the first proclamation. For an authentic understanding of kerygma the integrity of the New Testament must be upheld, and it will be necessary to re-think some standard stereotypes.
