Abstract

In identifying the educator with Christ, Christians are led to a soteriological understanding of education. Truly, the Bible attests that God saves as He educates. The author reveals this using Moses and the exodus from Egypt as an example. To persevere as Gods intermediary entails long and tedious learning. Moses teaches us that God is the source and cause of intercession. The desert is the locus for pedagogical choosing, demonstrating one's fidelity and the place where a nation learns how to accept God's gift as an obligation. Time spent in the desert also helps one value free time and understand it's meaning. Furthermore, God's people are educated for gratitude in the desert. The educator that desires to educate as God does must first allow himself to be educated by God. To educate as God does is a long process with many obstacles.
