Abstract

Track geometry problems and errors in welding zones, due to curvature at grooved rail ends, are presented. The measurement and comparison of measurement results according to different standards are presented on an actual example. The influence of curvature of grooved rail ends on the increase in force, acceleration and deformation, occurring at the moment a vehicle passes over a deformed rail in welding zone, is shown in horizontal and vertical plane.
