Abstract

Research of habitat characteristics and habitat selection of the Glass Lizard (Pseudopus apodus, Pallas 1775) was conducted on the island Cres and at the area of Klis. Locations were chosen due to their differences. Island Cres is representative of a north Adriatic island population, whilst the area of Klis is representative of south Adriatic continental population. Aim of this paper was to establish the essential features of Glass Lizard's habitat, that are typical for both studied areas, and to discover whether there are differences in the habitat selection among selected populations. This research was conducted during all three seasons of Glass Lizard's activity. Data were analyzed by means of factorial analysis that showed significant differences in three factors. The differences in the habitat of the studied populations are present, but they are result of habitat differences not of different habitat selection among populations.
