Abstract

Modern food products and the required packaging are defined by strict
international laws, regulations or standards. To protect the packagers and manufacturers of the food products, the procedure INFRAREDESIGN® (IRD) has been developed, and it solves and promotes and also guarantees reliable protection. The IRD procedure is based on merging the two images that appear and are recognized in two different parts of the light spectrum. Taking into account that there is a daily production of millions of items of packaging, this procedure was studied with great attention to determining relations X40 for regression coefficients of Z-separation. Spectral analyses of dyes for the prescribed procedures and their applications in food packaging were carried out. A system of pairs of basic dyes for visual (V) and infrared (Z) range has been developed. The Twins
of their dyes were defined, as well as their Z-sizes, based on the process CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and carbon black) components.
