[The value of questionnaires in epidemiological pedodontic investigations]

Abstract
During field-work or clinical epidemiological investigations a significant role is played by the application of various questionnaires. The author presents the possibilities of using questionnaires with corresponding examples of questions which are aimed at gathering information from a subject. The instructions about the way in which questionnaires should be made and the methods of work are presented. The advantages of a medical questionnaire along with the difficulties occuring during work are discussed. The author gives an example of his own investigations including some data from the project of the World Health Organization on the health conditions and stomatological care of the Istrian population. An example of a validation study for the verification of the results obtained by a questionnaire is also given.
