Abstract

There are insufficiently defined attitudes and different approaches in the stomatological treatment of pregnant women. The authors try to contribute to the solution of the most frequent practical dilemmas giving the systematization of attitudes toward diagnostic therapeutic stomatological treatment and distinguishing basic groups of normal and pathological or risk pregnancy. General biological changes in pregnancy significant for the woman as stomatological patient, as well the changes in the oral cavity and the teeth are presented. The attitudes toward X-ray of the teeth and jaws, anesthesia, antibiotic therapy and treatments including bleeding and pain are presented, while special attention is given to pathological and risk pregnancy which implies the closest cooperation between gynecologists and stomatologists.
