Abstract

A successful therapy of epilepsy requires the knowledge of clinical, neurophysiological, etiological, ontogenetic and topographic characteristics of attecks as well as the knowledge of the place and way of acting of a chosen antiepileptic means and of psychopathology of the patient. Different stress situations, including also »dentist's office« may increase the frequency of attacks in some epileptic children and adults. The knowledge of pharmacokinetics, selection and doses of additional psychopharmaca, local or general anesthetics as well as of quickly acting anticovulsion means provides sedation, painless short or long stomatological treatment or ceasure of attack.
