Abstract

This paper shows influence of external forces on the port buildings design, as one of the very important factors in the port activities. In fact, it is very important detailed knowledge of specific external forces that influence on the port buildings design in order to better determine the safety of the ship in port, the safety of port operations, port construction and loading facilities. External forces imply primarily meteorological and oceanographic conditions, wind, waves, tide status, visibility, temperature, humidity and fog. Considering all these factors during the port buildings design all the negative impacts of the port in further future can be predicted and prevented, and also port operations efficiency can be improved.
