Abstract
In planning the transport infrastructure, it is necesary for the effects of the newly designed roadway to be evaluated with regard to the existing situation. One of the criteria to be used for the purpose is the Vehicle Operating Cost – VOC. The basic components comprised with the VOC are the fuel, lubricants and other liquids consumption, the level of wear and tear and maintenance and overhauling costs. Vehicle operating costs are influenced by various traffic related technical factors which may be brought in correlation with roadway related technical features. In the case study elaborated in this paper, VOC have been compared using the HDM-VOC methodology on the roadway link between the Rijeka Container Terminal and the road junction of Čavle.
