Abstract

Supression of organized crime and related criminal offences is one of the priorities in borderless Europe. This is one of the priorities for the Republic of Croatia as a new EU member state too. This article contains analysis of relevant EU legal instruments that regulate general issues concerning organized crime. The author points that harmonization and approximation of domestic criminal justice system with acquis communautaire is not just mechanical process of reception of European legal standards but serious project that cannot be properly done without participation of all relevant stakeholders. He put emphasize on dysfunctional moments of existing European policies for suppression of various forms of organized crime.
