Abstract

Under term the public (educational) programs we understand communications planning with which archives are turning to informing the public with their work and to motivate various profiles of public within the education sector with the exploration and use of archival material. The purpose of this study was to investigate the current archival educational bang, realize its potential compatibility with the general upbringing and education goals of the National Curriculum Framework and implement their practical applicability through public archival programs. The author cites more recent american studies based on the use of archival material and its significance in research-based learning (inquiry based learning). Such informational potential of the materials, applicable for our educational needs, often remains untapped. Author suggests the acquisition of new competencies in Croatian archival education, focused on solid institutional management, planning of communication with educators in primary and secondary schools, the academic community in general. At the same time, it proposes models for their implementation.
