Abstract
Petrokemija, Plc. is a chemical industry, which is a waste generator, owner and recovery operator in the waste management process. The waste generator is responsible for selecting the most acceptable and least environmentally harmful process of waste recovery or disposal.
All organizational units, whose activity generates waste and / or deal with waste, implement waste management measures in accordance with the provisions of the Waste Act, by-laws, procedures and work instructions. An integrated waste management that is conducted encompasses all the activities of educating employees on the types of waste, waste generation prevention procedures, characteristics and properties of the waste, harmful impact on the environment, the possibility of reducing and recycling waste and potential savings. We have a certificate for the collection, storage, recycling and disposal and management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Records of all waste are kept, updated and promptly reported to competent authorities.
Good waste management reduces the waste impact on the environment and improves efficiency, thereby increasing the competitiveness of our products in the market.
Our goal is to prevent the generation of waste wherever possible, reduce the amount of waste at its source and reduce hazardous waste properties whose generation cannot be prevented and in accordance with BAT (best available techniques) as well as the objectives of IPPC.
